I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Cameron Glover for their tragic and heartbreaking loss. My heart also goes out to his fellow officers. Please keep this grieving family in your prayers.

Motorcycle Accidents

According to California Highway Patrol's 2008 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), there were five fatalities and 44 injuries involving motorcycle accidents in Santa Clarita. In Los Angeles County as a whole, 114 people died and 2,934 were injured as a result of motorcycle accidents during the same year.

Accident Causes

Based on this news report, it is not entirely clear what happened here. The article states that both the motorcycle and the vehicle were headed in the same direction. It is not evident whose fault this accident was. Was the motorcycle rear-ended by the other vehicle or did the motorcycle itself rear-end the other vehicle? Did the accident occur as the result of the other driver not seeing or consciously looking out for the motorcyclist? Did the other driver make an unsafe lane change? I trust officials are looking into these and other factors in order to determine who or what caused this tragic fatal accident.

Claim for Compensation

In such cases, it would be in the best interests of the victim's family to seek the counsel of an experienced Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, who will stay abreast of the investigation and make sure that their legal rights and best interests are protected. If negligence or wrongdoing was involved here, the victim's family members could file, what is known as, a wrongful death claim. Such claims seek compensation to cover medical or funeral expenses, lost future earnings, loss of love and companionship, and other related damages.
