Daniel Damon, 52, was killed in a Riverside car accident the night of February 12, 2010 after he was struck by a vehicle on a local roadway. The Desert Sun reports that Damon was found on southbound Cook Street near Merle Drive. He was dead when officials arrived on scene. Authorities determined that Damon was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. Anyone who saw this accident or has information about the hit-and-run suspect is asked to call Palm Desert police officials at 760-836-1600.

California Highway Patrol's Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS) reports that there was one fatality and 12 injuries involving pedestrian accidents in Palm Desert in 2008.
