Laws and Liability Issues
Based on this news report, it is not entirely clear how or why this injury collision occurred. Apparently it occurred at an intersection. The article does not state whether one of the vehicles involved ran a red light or whether one of the vehicles failed to yield right-of-way to the other. Failure to yield right-of-way is a serious traffic violation. According to California Vehicle Code section 21800 (a): "The driver of a vehicle approaching an intersection shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle which has entered the intersection from a different highway."
In this particular case, injured victims would be well-advised to seek the counsel of an experienced San Diego personal injury lawyer, who will stay abreast of the official investigation and make sure that their legal rights and best interests are protected. It is always in the best interests of accident victims to avoid talking to insurance adjusters or attorneys for other parties, give statements, sign papers or enter into agreements without first consulting a skilled injury lawyer. Victims who are injured by another's negligence or wrongdoing could seek compensation to cover medical expenses, loss of earnings, cost of hospitalization, therapy and treatment. The best personal injury law firms will always offer a free consultation and comprehensive case evaluation to injured victims and their families.
