Accident News For Attorneys, the Legal Field & the Public
Roger LaSalle, 62, died in an Orange County car accident the morning of January 2, 2010 after he lost control of his 2002 Ford Explorer SUV and crashed into a utility pole in Orange. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, officials are still looking into what caused LaSalle to lose control of his car, but believe that it may have been caused by a medical condition. LaSalle was westbound on Chapman Avenue when he lost control of his Ford Explorer and crashed. The vehicle "did not do anything out of the ordinary" such as flipping or spinning, but crashed straight into the pole. LaSalle was transported to a local hospital where he died shortly after the crash.
I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Roger LaSalle for their devastating loss. Please keep them in your prayers.

What Caused this Accident?
Based on this news report, officials believe the victim died after a heart attack. However, there are still several unanswered questions here. Did LaSalle suffer a medical condition before or after the Ford SUV crashed into the pole? Was there a vehicle defect or mechanical malfunction in the Ford SUV, which may have caused or contributed to this fatal car accident? Did all of the vehicle's safety features including, brakes, airbags and seat restraints function as designed and intended, or did any of these components fail.
An Experienced Injury Lawyer Can Help
Hopefully, the answers to these questions and more will help determine if there was any negligence involved here. Based on numerous crash tests conducted by our firm, we know Ford SUVs to be inherently unsafe and extremely unstable even under normal road and speed conditions. If I were a family member, I would preserve the SUV so it can still be examined thoroughly by an expert for malfunctions, auto product defects or other evidence that may be valuable to this case.
