A woman was fatally injured in a San Francisco car accident after she was struck by an SUV on Highway 37 in Vallejo, the night of February 6, 2010. According to a CBS News report, a black Cadillac Escalade traveling on the westbound lanes of the highway hit the woman. A 40-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in a San Diego car accident the afternoon of February 2, 2010 after her own car rolled over her. According to a news report in the San Diego Union-Tribune, the woman had just parked her 1990s Cadillac Deville in the driveway of her home. A man was killed in a Long Beach motorcycle accident the morning of February 2, 2010, The Press Telegram reports. The fatal motorcycle accident occurred on the eastbound 91 Freeway connector to the southbound 710 Freeway. Officials are saying that a January 29, 2010 San Diego car accident that killed 15-year-old skateboarder Lucas Giaconelli was caused by a 92-year-old man who drove away because he hadn't even realized that he had struck a human being. According to a CBS news report, Lucas was skateboarding on Thibodo Road in Vista when he was struck and killed. The elderly driver said he thought he had struck an animal or a bird. A driver sustained critical injuries in a Costa Mesa car accident after losing control of his vehicle on the connector between the 73 and 55 freeways the morning of February 1, 2010. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury accident happened after an older model BMW drove off the connector, rolled over and landed on its roof. A 4-year-old boy sustained serious injuries in a Los Angeles swimming pool accident after he nearly drowned in backyard pool. According to a news report in the San Bernardino Sun, the accident occurred at a home in the 1200 block of East Alvarado Street in Pomona, the afternoon of January 30, 2010. The family at the residence was trying to resuscitate the child when officers arrived. Officers were able to restore the child's breathing by placing him on his side and forcing the water from his lungs. The pedestrian was struck by a Muni light rail vehicle near the intersection of Ninth Avenue and Judah Street. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital. A 26-year-old man was seriously injured in a Long Beach car accident after his vehicle was broadsided by a big rig loaded with cars. According to a news report in The Press Telegram, the driver was traveling on the northbound 710 Freeway near Willow Street, when the big rig hit the driver's side of his sedan, the morning of January 27, 2010. The man's hip and leg were trapped and firefighters took about 10 minutes to free him from the car. The man was taken to an area trauma center, but his injuries are said to be non life-threatening. Two people were injured in an Orange County car accident the morning of January 26, 2010, after a car lost control and slammed into other vehicles waiting on an off-ramp of the 55 Freeway. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, a Honda Civic was traveling west on Chapman, in Orange, when the driver suddenly entered the on-ramp to the southbound lanes of the freeway. The Civic then veered across the on-ramp and the divider before crashing into vehicles that were waiting on the off-ramp for the light at Chapman Avenue. California Highway Patrol officials said the Honda Civic hit a Chevy Silverado, a Ford Ranger, a Mercedes Benz C240 as well as a Honda Odyssey van. The driver of the Civic and Mercedes were injured. Timothy Adams, 60, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident the night of January 23, 2010 after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed. The San Bernardino Sun reports that Adams was driving a 1979 Jeep CJ6 near the Giant Rock Airstrip, in Landers, when the vehicle rolled over. Adams was trapped under the vehicle initially, but soon freed by his friend, who was a passenger in the Jeep. However, Adams apparently refused medical aid after the accident. Both men went to the friend's home in Landers for the night. The next morning, the friend called 911 after he found Adams unresponsive. He was pronounced dead that morning. The Coroner's officer is still trying to determine the exact cause of death, but it is believed that Adams may have died from injuries sustained in the rollover accident.
